Sambas regency orange is well known as a sweet orange produce since a long time ago. Pontianak oranges trade mark in the market outside the
province of West Kalimantan was originally derived from Sambas regency, it is spread in some sub districts such as: Tebas, Semparuk and Sebawi. The Suitable land for cultivation plants make most people plant oranges because It can raise their economic standard and orange become popular plant in their life until now.
Based on data from Statistics Sambas regency in 2009 with the area is
over 10,000 hectares and the number of tree of plants produced as many as 3,193,537 trees and it is result of fruit about 1,516,326 hundred pounds of fruit.
The problem is the marketing of fruit products which are sold are still in the form of fresh fruit without any refined products like syrup, juice etc.
